Bristol LeRoc (Clifton LeRoc) is the longest running modern jive class in the South West, running for over 20 years. The classes are held on Monday nights at The Bristol Folk House on Park Street in Bristol. We also run monthly dance nights at the Filton Community Centre in Bristol.
Bristol LeRoc are the organisers of the infamous LeRoc Ball which is held at The Winter Gardens in Weston-super-Mare at the start of December. This ball is the biggest event of the year in the area and has been running since 1990. This year is the 21st ball.
John and Jacquie are the chief instructors for Bristol LeRoc.
John is an examiner in LeRoc for the UKA and is a founding member and former chairman of The LeRoc Modern Jive Federation. He is also the author of the instructional booklet in the 'Start to Dance-Modern Jive' CD and the author of the instruction manual for the federation. Jacquie is also a highly qualified teacher and is a full member of the UKA and LeRoc Federation.
Bristol LeRoc also teach the ever popular Bristol University LeRoc club.

Classes, Dances and Events are run and taught by celebrity guest teachers and Sarah Johnson Proprietor of Sarah's Modern Jive. She is, UK Freestyle and UK Spotlight Jive Champion a Qualified Instructor & Full Member of LeRoc Federation and UKA, The Director of BritRock Independent Championships and Trustee of 'Build a Future in Kenya Reg 1112412.
Starting in Sept 2000 Sarah's Modern Jive has grown to include regular weekly classes in the East Sussex area, monthly dances at the beautiful Eastbourne Town Hall, monthly Workshops of varying levels, 3 Balls at the fabulous Winter Gardens, popularly known as 'Putting on the Ritz' and 3 Brighton Balls at The Hove Centre in Brighton as well as BritRock Ltd the impressive Independent Modern Jive annual Competition every October.

Newqay Jive, dance on Thursdays at Indian Queens working men’s club and Monday at Wadebridge town hall. They have monthly Weekend hops and tea dances. Occasionally they have guest instructors from other dance organisations. They instruct and demonstrate for Plymouth Jive on Tuesdays.
They are always very helpful and pass on useful information about dance related topics.

Mikey has over 23 years professional experience throughout the UK, teaching at his own clubs, guest teaching for other dance companies everywhere from the tip of Cornwall to the heart of Scotland, and featuring on the bill at National Jive Weekend events for organisers such as Jive Addiction, Jivetime, Party Weekender and Holiday Rock.
His reputation has also led to him teaching overseas both for UK jive holiday groups and for local organisers.
Whilst he is renowned nationally for his cheeky humour and laid-back teaching style, at the Club level dancers know him as someone passionately committed to helping them reach their dancing goals, who always has time to break down the technicalities of a move for beginners or advanced dancers alike, or to challenge students to extend their musicality and interpretation.
His professionalism and dedication ensures that all newcomers quickly progress and soon become accomplished dancers - all whilst having a great night out!
Mikey’s personal collection of music built up over his teaching years offers something to cater for all tastes from the 1940’s right up to modern day pop music. You will find a variety of different rhythms available, some of which will only be heard at Dance Dedication venues and which will enable dancers to express their own personal interpretation of the music to suit their individual style. After all modern jive is not a regimented form of dance and there is no right or wrong way of jiving.

Running weekly classes at The Phoenix (William Parker Arts Complex) and often have two weekend dances booked a month at different venues. Sunday dances afternoons should re-start in the autumn.
