Hi everyone.

 

Freestyle and Bar B Q at our superb Boughton venue, Monday 30th August. What a great way to spend a bank holiday, a bit of time at the nearby beaches and towns of Whitstable or Herne Bay or maybe a stroll along the historic Faversham Creek.

Then a bar-b-Q from 5:30 and freestyle dancing from 7:30 until 11:30 pm when all of those bank holiday traffic jams will have well and truly cleared. Special guest DJ is Mikey.

The bar opens at 7:30 but feel free to bring your own drinks for before then. Soft drinks and juice is available. If you have a vegetarian or vegan requirement please let us know as soon as possible, thanks.

 

Numbers at both venues, Deal and Boughton are on the way up after our appearance at both Deal and Herne Bay carnivals. We also had a very successful Picnic on the green at Walmer which is attracting new members and reminding some of our existing friends what a great social time we have at Dance Dedication.

EVERY MONDAY NIGHT
Sidcup Working Mens Club. 169 Main Road, Sidcup. DA14 6PD.
Free car parking on site, Cheap Licensed bar, superb atmospheric seating areas, wooden dance floor. Fully Air Conditioned.

SUNDAY SENSATION T DANCES
Freestyle from 2pm till 6pm. Free cakes, biscuits, goodies etc all included .
All beverages are available from the Licensed Bar, including Tea's and Coffees etc.
On select Sundays we will also be doing Mini workshops for 2 hours. 12noon - 2.pm for just £10 per person. Add just £2 to include the freestyle as well. all held with great decor in a warm and friendly Candlelit atmosphere.

Mikey has over 23 years professional experience throughout the UK, teaching at his own clubs, guest teaching for other dance companies everywhere from the tip of Cornwall to the heart of Scotland, and featuring on the bill at National Jive Weekend events for organisers such as Jive Addiction, Jivetime, Party Weekender and Holiday Rock.

His reputation has also led to him teaching overseas both for UK jive holiday groups and for local organisers.

Whilst he is renowned nationally for his cheeky humour and laid-back teaching style, at the Club level dancers know him as someone passionately committed to helping them reach their dancing goals, who always has time to break down the technicalities of a move for beginners or advanced dancers alike, or to challenge students to extend their musicality and interpretation.

His professionalism and dedication ensures that all newcomers quickly progress and soon become accomplished dancers - all whilst having a great night out!

Mikey’s personal collection of music built up over his teaching years offers something to cater for all tastes from the 1940’s right up to modern day pop music. You will find a variety of different rhythms available, some of which will only be heard at Dance Dedication venues and which will enable dancers to express their own personal interpretation of the music to suit their individual style. After all modern jive is not a regimented form of dance and there is no right or wrong way of jiving.

Mikey’s key aim is that dancers relax, have fun, meet new people and are offered a challenge to improve their dancing whilst enjoying a great night out. Why not come along one evening and see for yourself!
