Dance Dedication Newsletter November 2015

Boughton Freestyle events are going from strength to strength with over 90 dancers for last Saturdays Halloween event and what an amazing collection of awesome costumes.

Our new Venue at Whitfield village hall is surpassing all expectations with very good numbers and a fantastic social atmosphere, I would say it’s just like Club Dover but even better.

Class nights at Boughton have been a little quite over the summer but numbers are coming up nicely

Our next freestyle is at Boughton on November 21st with Disy playing the music and as always a full bar. Only £8.00 to get in and don’t forget to bring your raffle tickets for the chance to win a Rotate dance shoe voucher (Lyne from Whitfield won the October voucher)

Julie will be bringing her collection of Phoenix Christmas cards, wrapping paper, Advent calendars & Advent cards & accessories to the Freestyle  for you to browse, buy on the night, or order - have a look at her website A donation from cards sales will be made to the DD chosen charity Demelza

As part of my hire agreement at Boughton I must ensure that only drinks from the bar are consumed on freestyle nights please help with this by not bringing your own alcoholic beverages. It has been made clear to me that we will lose the bar if I can not stick to the hire terms.

Party Nights

On Monday December 14th at Boughton and Tuesday December 15th we are having an “American supper” party night. So it’s dress to party in whatever style of Christmas attire takes your fancy. If you would like to bring a plate along please see Angie as she has a list of party foods for you to choose from and it saves us trying to think what to do with four thousand sausage rolls.

DD will be providing bottles of wine and orange juice but you are welcome to bring your own tipple of choice.

New Years Eve

This year we are back at the town hall in Dover for the new years celebrations. This is a public event and includes Bubbly at midnight a meal in a basket (not soup this year) and a “party” disco. This event has always been great fun and it’s a great opportunity to bring your non dancing friends out to see what this dance thingy is all about. Tickets prices have been finalised at £16.50 and are available from Angie or Mick. We have an initial booking of 60 places with over 40 of these being sold already, so if you want to join us then please get in touch asap.

Travel lodge currently have rooms for £39 (internet price)

New Format

We have been running the new format of mini workshops once a month for a while now and following feed back from many of our guests we have decided to take the class nights back to the original format.

We will be keeping the new beginners routines where one move is carried over to the following week and this will also apply to the intermediate routines.

Instead of the mini workshops we will be offering full workshops on a Bi monthly basis starting in the new year. These are aimed at intermediate dancers and will be limited in size. More details next month.

New dancer workshop

On November 28th at our Whitfield (Dover) Venue we will be holing a workshop for all of our new dancers.

This workshop is aimed at dancers who have been dancing for 16 weeks or less and would like to have the opportunity to master the modern jive “building blocks”

These workshops have a high ratio of coaches to dancers to ensure that as much individual attention is provided as possible.  As with all of our classes and workshops we aim to have a great atmosphere where you can enjoy yourself whilst learning.  Free squash, water, tea and coffee are provided.

The price is only £10pp and places are limited, If you would like to attend please contact Mick or Angie to reserve your place.

Time for a bit of cheek.

Dance Dedication is an independent club, we don’t have a national profile and we don’t want to spend millions on advertising.

We need your help in promoting our events and class nights, we have found that social media is the most effective way of contacting people who may want to try dancing.

So…. Please share our face book event posts on your page or just let your “friends” know that your having fun with Dance Dedication. Remember every time you bring someone new along to Dance Dedication you have free entry and they do to.

Keep Dancing, that way you’ll keep smiling

Mick and all the team at DD

If you like what we do tell your friends and if you don’t like what we do tell Mick!
