EVENTS

 



1.     SOCIAL GET-TOGETHER Weds 16th May, Prince of Wales pub, Coped Hall, from 6pm - Join us and chat with other members over a drink or two in a relaxed setting.  No need to book, just turn up and meet us in the bar.

2.     WESSEX BUSINESS BREAKFAST – Fri 25th May, 7.30am – 9.00am, The Wiltshire.  Network with 80+ business people from around the region.  With guest speaker is Councillor Allison Bucknell.  Only £12 for members (£16.50 non members).

3.     HOME-WORKERS DROP IN – Weds 30th May - anytime between 12.30 and 2pm, The Croft (next to St Bart’s church) - Join us for coffee and chat.  Free for members, £2.00 non-members

4.     LUNCH WITH SPEAKER – Weds 13th June, 12.30pm, Ganges Restaurant
An eat-as-much-as-you-like delicious Indian buffet, followed by a talk by head of Royal Wootton Bassett Academy, George Croxford.  Find out more about the school’s outstanding Ofsted report, becoming an Academy, and how businesses can help students.  £8.00 for members, £10.00 for non-members.  Bookings being taken now.

5.     NETWORKING, INFO & AGM EVENING – Weds 20th June, Spittleborough Farmhouse, Royal Wootton Bassett, from 6pm – An evening of informal networking, a chance to find out more about Chamber plans and make suggestions for the future, plus buffet & drinks.  A short AGM will take place at the start of the evening, where the new committee will be introducing themselves.

BENCHMARKING SURVEY – CAN YOU HELP?

The National Membership Organisation and Charity, Action for Market Towns, has been contracted by the town council to undertake a Benchmarking Review of Royal Wootton Bassett.  Data is being collected to help with future planning for the town.  If your business is town centre based, please help by completing the short online questionnaire.

 

 

BUSINESS WORKSHOP

A half day HR Recruitment & Selection workshop is being run by Wessex Chambers at the Civic Centre in Royal Wootton Bassett on Tues 15th May from 1.30pm.  Whether you’re taking on your first employee or establishing a framework for employment, the workshop is only £25 for members or £40 non-members.


 

CARNIVAL
With the carnival procession on 19th May, followed by the Olympic Torch and Diamond Jubilee events soon afterwards, please get in the good old British spirit of things and decorate your business in red, white and blue.

 

 

CONGRATULATIONS!

Well done to town crier Owen Collier who returned from Dorset on Monday as the new South of England Town Criers’ Champion 2012.  Owen’s wife, Sheila, also won Best Dressed Escort.

 

 

DIAMOND JUBILEE

There are lots of events planned around the town centre to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee – click on the link for more details.  We are also selling some NEW Royal Wootton Bassett shopping bags to commemorate this event.  They’re available to buy direct from us in multiples of 25, or see us by the town hall this Saturday morning (12th May) from 9am ‘til 12noon.  Bags £3.00 each or we can offer a reduced price for larger orders.

 

 

OVERSEAS MARKET?

Wessex Chambers is looking at the possibility of offering an export documentation service. At present they are collecting evidence of demand, and would be grateful for your help with this.  If your business exports products, or is looking to do this in the future, please see the attached letter.
